Three vessels operating in South Pacific switch to biofuels

Swire Shipping has announced that three of its vessels operating in the South Pacific, Apia Chief, Tonga Chief, and Kokopo Chief, have transitioned to using B24 and B30 second-generation biofuel blends.

The vessels, part of the Pacific Weekly Express and East Timor services, will initially bunker B24 biofuel in Singapore in Q2 2025 and later shift to B30. The initiative is a collaborative effort between Swire Shipping, its sister company Argent Energy, and biofuel supplier BP.
